Opinions Matter – And Not Just Your Own

31 Days Of Blogging Your Truth Day 20 & 21: Opinions

So, admittedly, I’ve gotten 20 days into the 31 Days challenge and finally couldn’t do it any more. I missed Day 20. And I’m late on Day 21 (it is going live right before midnight my time, so it still counts, right?)

Anyhow, welcome back to the 31 Days Of Blogging Your Truth series. I’ve missed you…

We’ve been talking about the 10 ways you can blog your truth, and a few other things along the way. Today, I’m cheating. You’re getting Day 20 and 21 in one post.

Hey, it’s my blog, I can do what I want right? LOL.

So, opinions. They’re like… well I’m sure you’ve heard it before… and everyone has one.

Everyone has opinions - Day 20 & 21 of 31 Days Of Blogging Your TruthBut, here’s the thing…

You’ll blog your truth more effectively if you are open to the opinions of others.

I know, I know. I just told you a few weeks ago to ignore the haters, and I still mean that. Not all opinions come from haters. Some opinions are like yours. Some are not, but they’re constructive. And, some, well, some can be ignored.

Difference of Opinions and How to Handle - 31 Days of Blogging Your Truth

But every time we ask for a share, a comment, a like… we’re asking for someone’s opinion. If they like it, they’ll share it; if they have something to say, they’ll comment. Right?

So, why do we get so upset when someone leaves an opinion that’s different than ours?

Comment Love & Being Open to Opinions - 31 Days Of Blogging Your Truth

You know, sometimes these differing opinions can open doors. Doors to things you’ve never considered. To a side you didn’t see before. To conversation that wouldn’t have happened. Opinions can be a good thing.

Whether you’re collecting data like I have been recently for a fundraiser I throw each year to honor my son, or you’re a blogger putting something out there you know is going to stir up some emotions, or you’re simply a friend wanting some feedback – opinions are necessary. It’s how we grow.

So, don’t be so quick to throw out someone’s thoughts, for they can be a powerful thing if you let them.
